    2D Animation [Hand-Drawn] Internship Application

2025 Summer Internship - Visual Development Artist:

137 Ewes Productions is a wildly new animation and comics studio that primarily features animals as our main characters. We are incredibly excited to find out more about our characters and world through working with you.

Internship Duration
June 16th - August 22nd

Application Deadline
March 10th, 2025 11:59pm pst.

Responsibilities
Will be assigned:
  • Projects of 1 to 5 seconds of hand-drawn 2D Animation
  • Animation characters that need to adhere to specific character art
  • Line movement for animation
  • Coloring for animation
  • Keyframe llustrations
  • In between drawings
Qualifications
CHARACTER DESIGN
  • Great understanding of animation timing, basic principles of animation
  • Strong draftsmanship / drawing skills
  • Understanding of the life of the LINE, how to animate lines
  • Understanding of SHAPE, how to animate so that shapes move to communicate
  • Thorough understanding of anatomy
  • Great understanding of herbivores, four-legged locomotion, animal behaviors and/or passion to want to learn these areas (we are only at the tip of the iceberg to truly understand animals)
  • Great understanding of various emotions and how to express them effectively
  • Fluent with Toomboom Harmony OR TVPaint
  • Diligent in researching about the character, reference images, and history
  • Time Management ability to complete assignments on time
  • Wild creativity to stretch your imagination
  • Unique ability to pose characters (Action Poses, Move them in space)
  • Effective at taking notes on feedback and implementing verbal, written, and/or draw-over feedback
  • Allotting minimum of 15 hours per week and maximum 20 hours on actual drawings for storyboards during this internship
  • Be a rising Sophomore, Junior, Senior in a BFA program, ideally in Animation. OR in an enrolled MFA program of similar degree. [You must verify you are enrolled after internship acceptance or we need to rescind the offer]
